Sitting up...

You regular readers (yes I mean grandparents) may be wondering when it is that Kale started sitting up since there was a switch in his position in pictures here with no real announcement. The honest answer is we aren't sure. It seemed to come really gradually. We would prop him up with the Boppy and then slowly we stopped having to. In the past week or so he has been sitting all of the time. He doens't fall back very often but he loves falling forward because then he can practice his crawling. We just need to make sure there aren't any hard toys right in front of him or the chin takes a beating.

First day of Spring!

The first day of spring was sunny and beautiful! It was warm enough to hang laundry out on the clothesline, play outside in our backyard and on our swing!

Playing with the camera

One sunny morning, we were playing with the camera on the floor. We managed a few cute pictures:

When we were out snowshoeing Keri and Steve took some great pictures. You can even see that I was wearing a baby other thann Kale. Our friend Amy really wanted to go skiing so I wore here daugher Ayla for the hike. Ayla did great away from her mommy and Kale loved being up high on Daddy's shoulders.

This time, we went showshowing with our friends Keri, Steve and their baby girl Sadie (the one that Kale likes to kiss). We decided to use the frame backpack that Auntie Robyn bought Kale - he loved being so high up in the air!

Bath

Keva is the baby bather in the family but every once in a while I get a turn and that results in pictures. Kale is often very serious about his play when in the bath with me. Probably nervous I don't know the bath ritual as well as Daddy does.

Mum discovered the baby-recliner - lots of padding and blankets in a laundry basket make a very happy baby!

Learning to crawl

Every day, Kale is getting more and more mobile. Right now, he's able to do a push-up onto his knees and PUUUUUSH himself, well, backwards. Any day now, he'll figure out how to move forwards...

Laptop Envy or Narcissism

We aren't letting Kale watch television but being the computer addicts that we are we have given him a fair bit of screen time as we are trying to email people or do our taxes (or even read a few blogs). He loves the laptop in part because he knows I am so interested in it.
















Recently though he has discovered himself on the laptop and it provides instant entertainment. So instead of the TV babysitter I have the slideshow of himself babysitter if I need to make a phone call or grab a bite to eat.
