Bubbles Everywhere
At the end of this dish soap bubble session Kale and I were both dripping from hair to socks and the floor was sparkling clean.

A Dinner Date
With the BlocksPlaydough
Holding Tyler (while everyone makes a point of telling me how good I look with a newborn baby and doesn't it just make me want one right away and Keva runs for the camera to get a picture of me with a baby).

The Horse
On Kale's birthday we gave him a horse that had been Keva's when he was a little boy. Kale was unwilling to try it out that day and has continued to avoid it ever since. All of his friends love it and go straight for it when they come in the door but that has not swayed his opinion. Alex on the horse and Superboy on the Tigerente.
Cayden on the Horse and Kale on the Tigerente.

Happy Birthday Mommy
Kale helped me open my presents over breakfast this morning. We had an amazing breakfast of hot rice pudding with fresh cranberry sauce (yum) and then headed out for a bit of shopping. Mom and Keva brought me clothes and chased Kale around so I was actually able to find some nice jeans, skirt, and a few sweaters. It felt like a very decadent morning of spoiling.
My birthday fell on Canadian Thanksgiving and we went over to our neighbours for supper. Russel lighting the candles.
Christa busy in the kitchen.
Margaret smiling through supper.
A family shot.
It was nice to be taken care of on my birthday and feel like the world centered on me for a moment. It doesn't happen often (especially since Kale was born) and was a treat.

Petting Zoos and Mall Trains
are what birthdays are made of.
Kale had been asking to go to the Petting Zoo again ever since hearing me talking to a friend about it so I thought it would be a good place for us to spend his birthday
morning.Once we made it there he wouldn't even get out of my arms. He didn't want to pet or look at the animals.
Grandma took some pictures of the animals so Kale could look at them later. He maintained he desire to leave the entire time we were there and wanted to go home or to the mall to ride the train.
Since it was his birthday we headed out to the train and he had a blast.
We even got a picture of the conductor (who sleeps in the mall in case you were wondering).
Then we hit the construction vehicle and grabbed a bubble tea before heading home.
EDIT: In the weeks since Kale's birthday he has talked about our trip to the petting zoo frequently. He is particularly vocal about Petunia the pig. It is amazing to me how much he is retaining from an experience even if it appears that he isn't into it at all.

Kale's 2nd Birthday
Has it really been two years? Goodness me. Our little baby is now a busy toddler. The glee for the horse has been short lived. So far he is unwilling to even give it a try.
This dump truck from Auntie Robyn has been a big hit.
Check out the pattern in the stacking blocks. We adults had nothing to do with that.
And Grandma brought a tunnel that is even cooler than Cayden's.
Off I go

Our New Playgroup
In an attempt to increase socialization in our lives (really both of us) I have organized a weekly playgroup at our house. Today we had a lot of fun.Painting...
Playing in the washing up water...
and hitting the toy shelves.
Having all of these kids (and their mums and nanas) in the house is quite the whirlwind. More toys end up all around the house than I have ever seen before and the clean up song hasn't quite inspired the little ones to pick up.
