Happy Birthday Keva

Today was Keva's birthday and we had some good food and fun both before and after his long stressful day at work.

Birthday breakfast with presents and honey puff pancakes. Kale's favorite present was the Transformer Mr. Potato that Auntie Robyn sent Daddy. He wanted to wear Optimash Prime's hat.

Look at this gorgeous 29 year old fellow. He is enjoying the 1st of the 13 days he is older than me.

Grandma and Grandpa Moskowitz came over for dinner and to babysit Kale while Keva and I headed out to the movies.

Cuddles while mom is lighting the birthday candles.

Kale is fascinated by the fire but doesn't get the whole concept of blowing out the candles.

Cold Season

Kale woke up Monday morning with a snotalicious cold. He wasn't miserable but a bit quieter than normal and quite willing to stick to indoor activities. Today he must have been feeling cold because he grabbed my sweatshirt out of the laundry basket and wouldn't take it off all afternoon. He and Daddy headed out to the store after dinner for a little out of the house time and Kale couldn't be persuaded to change his outfit.

High Fashion Moskowitz Style.

Happy 2nd Birthday Alex

It is hard to believe two years have passed but here we are celebrating Alex's 2nd birthday. The first preview to the fact that Kale will soon be 2. The kids had great time at Alex's playground party.

Weekend in Bellingham and Seattle

Up at the crack of dawn on Saturday morning we headed over to Bellingham for brunch with Grandma and Grandpa Moskowitz. We had a blast hanging out with them and playing with dinosaurs.

We then raced down to Seattle (timing the drive for naptime) and arrived just in time to quickly change in a fast food washroom before Becky and Sooraj's wedding. It was a lovely ceremony with good food and conversation after. For Kale the highlight was, that, for the second wedding in a row there was a playground on the facility. Boy did that make the reception more fun.

The happy couple.

We spent Sunday lounging around with Jane and Rachel in Seattle and doing a little shopping for Kale and I. Two years into our nursing relationship I once again needed new nursing bras and so I got sized and purchased Bella Materna bra in a lovely shade of steel blue. I am already wishing I bought two of them.

Kale got new shoes for the fall (See Kai Run Rashad in the big boy size of 8). It has been getting cold enough that sandals aren't really going to cut it any longer.

Blackmail

That was Keva's comment when he uploaded these pictures last night. Keva wanted to go outside one evening and these were the clothes he chose as essential for that venture.

Socks, Shoes, Diaper and Leisure suit jacket all topped off with stylin' red sunglasses.

When we suggested sunglasses might not be too useful in the dark he pushed them up.

And was all ready to go

Babylove

Sometimes when we are playing around the house Kale asks me to put his baby into the carrier. Using a scarf as a wrap we tie baby onto his back and he goes about his business. Today he wore baby for most of the afternoon with breaks for both of them to have milkies periodically.

Here Kale is concentrating on some serious play with baby watching over this shoulder.

and then off for a bicycle ride around the house.

Parksville

On a wet and rainy camping weekend we headed out to Parksville to see some sandcastles and give Kale a new environment to explore. He hasn't been particularly enchanted with what is near this campground. Imagine our surprise when we encountered the coolest playground we have ever experienced.

This lion water fountain is just like one we used to stop to see on our drives from Eureka to San Francisco when I was a little girl. I got excited and took several photos but neither Keva or Kale really cared for it.

This was the hit of the playground. Four bucket swings that spun around (with a little parent help) and Kale was a junky instantly. He wanted more more more.

At other times we had kids in all of the buckets but didn't get out the camera when we were that busy.

GOATS on the roof

Okay so this is touristy but my goodness aren't they just so cute up there. And General Store underneath the goats was lots of fun as well. Attractive architecture and playful wooden toys section.
